      Hi everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well. I’ve been wanting to share something that’s been on my mind. Lately, I’ve been on this journey of thoughts to stop drinking, but it feels like every time I manage to go a few days, my friends invite me out, or I end up at the bar at the bottom of the street after work. I hate to admit it, but I find it really hard to say no to them, and it’s been challenging.

I know it’s crucial to stand firm on my decision, but I can’t shake off this feeling of weakness. Does anyone else experience this? How do you handle these situations? I’d love to hear your thoughts and get some advice on how to navigate through these temptations.

      Thanks for listening.

      Hey Charlotte,

Turning down invites from friends can be tough, especially when you’re used to sharing a drink with them. One strategy is to be honest about your decision to cut back on drinking. You don’t need to spill all the details, but sharing a bit about your goals might help them understand.

Suggesting alternative activities is another way to navigate these situations. Propose ideas like grabbing a meal, going to a movie, or doing something else you both enjoy that doesn’t involve alcohol. Bringing your own non-alcoholic drink to social gatherings can also help you feel more at ease.

Remember, you’re not alone in this journey. Letting a close friend or family member in on your decision can provide valuable support. Practice saying no, focus on your goals, and know that it’s entirely okay to prioritize your well-being. Your true friends will respect your choices. Stay strong!

Here’s to a healthier path! Best of luck.
